Part 2 in my Seasons' Collection: Autumn
Autumn is a time when nature starts to recline back, leaves turning red and golden before they fall. The sun still shines, with some bright skies on cooler days. The daylilies in my garden turn a warm orange, a good time to harvest and dry them for weaving. There natural fibre is silky to weave with, a gentle reminder of those crisp but silky bright days.
A warmth of daylily has been carefully woven in to the base and around the side giving contrast with the green iris sibirica leaves. Tucked inside the border of willow bark is a ring of cordage woven again with gently browning daylily leaves.
This basket is 100% natural, handwoven using willow bark which has been harvested from sustainable coppiced willow, and the elegant iris sibirica plant I love to grow in my suburban garden.

Daylily leaves, iris sibirica leaves and willow bark.
