Part 1 in my Seasons' Collection: Winter
Winter is a time for colder weather and some snowy days. Its a time to wrap up warm and stay cozy. Using sweetcorn husk, a natural white fibre in this small yet handy basket, gives that sharp white contrast we see in nature when snow coats the landscape giving a brighter light and magical feel.
 
A line of sweetcorn has been carefully woven in to the base and around the side giving contrast with the green iris sibirica leaves.  Nestled inside the border of willow bark is a ring of cordage woven again with sweetcorn husk.
 
This basket is 100% natural, handwoven using willow bark which has been harvested from sustainable coppiced willow, and the elegant iris sibirica plant I love to grow in my suburban garden.
