About much nita weaving

Hello I'm Anita Lomas, the name behind much nita weaving. Some would describe me as a creative having spent 25 years as a professional graphic designer. However my love of the natural environment has now led me along a different creative route into a world of weaving items by hand for the home and garden using only natural materials. My graphic design skills are still in good use as the Designer of the 3 yearly Journal for Basketmakers' Association members.

Based in the small village of Gatley in South Manchester, I work from a garden studio to bring alive my creative ideas, weaving them into bespoke and useful makes for people to enjoy.

All materials are either grown in my garden or foraged locally and sustainably from fields, the roadside, or a community willow bed. Any plant material is always harvested at the end of its natural lifecycle so the bulb, corm, tuber or roots can flourish again the following year. My willow baskets are always made from quality UK grown willow in different varieties.

I am City & Guilds qualified, tutored by professional makers, and I'm a member of The Basketmakers' Association.
